Song of the Moon

Sasha rolled to his side, scratching his head vigorously with the back of his hand.. Almost canine like. His keen golden eyes gazed across the hard wooden floor. Several others were scattered within the small cabin room. Piles of dirty sheep skin blankets were thrown into piles, serving as small beds.
The fireplace cackled in the far corner of the room, spitting soft flames. The warm light burned his delicate groggy eyes. He squinted while turning to his side, avoiding the exposure of light against his face.
His sister, Blue, lay asleep next to his restless body. He tried to remain quiet, in fear of awaking her from her peaceful slumber. Anticipation began to rise as his alert senses began to fully awaken. He let out an elongated growl under his breath.

Why.Are.We.Sleeping. He thought to himself with a wide frown curling onto his slender face. He mumbled a few curse words under his breath until he finally shot up in frustration. Startled by his own abrupt movements, he apprehensively glanced down to find his sleeping sister, lost in dream. He let out a sigh of relief while slowly inching his way to his feet. The floor boards taunted him, squeaking loudly with every light step he took.
Stirring bodies rolled to their sides, mumbling soft nothings. After dodging the many others, he had finally made his way to the door-less entry. The luminescent moon greeted him, a soft breeze tickled his face while brushing his thick hair from side-to-side. It was beautiful.

Werewolves were advised to stay in groups due to their closeness to Camarilla grounds. It was considered 'unsafe' to live in solitary.
Sasha and his sister Blue live in a small group with five others, protecting one another from other werewolves, and worst.. Vampires.

Luna made her way through the obscure night, taking the form of a familiar wolf. The clouds were somewhat scarce, allowing the moon to shin brightly. To the eyes of a average man, the night seemed mediocre, the standard full moon. But, for Luna, it breathed something more. She felt a certain strength that radiated down upon her. Although, there was a lingering precess in the air that made her hair stand on edge. She couldn't place the feeling that made her uneasy.

She followed her nose, leading her across a path she had taken many times before. The scent that guided her was familiar. It was the scent of kin.

She felt at ease whenever she was in the serenity of the forest. It was so close to nature that it nearly halted the burning rage that churned inside her. For once in her existence, she almost felt normal. Almost.

Luna eventually come across a small cabin that was hidden within the vegetation. She recognized it, seeing that she had been there before. It didn't surprise her when she smelled numerous werewolves taking refuge in the sheltered area. She found herself nearing the small abode, transforming back into her human self. Luna wasn't quite sure what made her morph. It could've been due to the fact that she saw a man standing in the threshold of the small doorway. It wasn't always safe to leave yourself defenseless, even if the person you were approaching was a fellow werewolf.

These days... you just can't trust anyone anymore.

Sasha's eye flicked towards the shadowy figure of a young woman standing only a few feet away. The moonlight complimented her pulchritudinous features, revealing the eyes of a fellow sister. He took a few steps out of the tattered cabin, revealing his face. He gently lifted his nose in the air, sniffing the various scents. Her aroma was strong, reminding him of a bouquet of sweet roses. Her essence taught him the basics of her mysterious persona.
She was an elder, well... compared to him. He naturally bent his head downwards showing his uttermost respect. As respectful as Sasha gets.

Luna smirked at the fellow werewolf. She felt so much more ease when she was around her own kind. She waved her hand, dismissing any respectful manner from here on out. Of course, she knew people could tell she was a seasoned werewolf compared to most, but she didn't like feeling respected just because of her age. She stood near the edge of trees, keeping a relative safe distance. Although she was not in perfect speaking range, she knew her voice would travel in the wind. Plus, her hearing was strong.

She scrutinized the man with her golden eyes. She flicked a dark brown piece of hair from her face. "What's your name? You look familiar." She asked bluntly. Luna sniffed at the air. "And... I feel as if I've breathed that scent before..." she mumbled, mostly saying the words to herself.

Sasha jumped the small three steps from the cabin's entrance, landing heavily onto the ground. He fixed his posture and swiftly walked towards her sheltered body. Halfway there, he inclined an open hand, tilting his head to the side. He walked with a natural pompous strut. Most found it extremely irritating, however, it was his natural egotistical self.
"Me? Familiar?" he said while raising his arm to his nose. He gave it a quick wiff, and shrugged it off. "Perhaps my sister?" he said in an excited tone, "Blue!" he shouted behind himself. He cringed as he suddenly remembered they were all asleep.
He turned back towards the woman with a slight cower.
"Heh.. I'm Sasha." he answered before the question was asked. By now he had finally stood only inches from the woman.
He didn't believe in the phrase, 'too close for comfort', however his rough manners gave him personality. Or so he thought.

Luna felt a little uncomfortable when Sasha cleared the distance between them. She wasn't used to people being upfront and personal. She shook it off and extended her hand. "The name's Luna," she said, toneless. She couldn't help but feel a pull towards the name that he so loudly called. Blue... Luna thought the name to herself. That's when it clicked.

She had met Blue a while back. She was a sweet girl... sometimes rather annoying, but nevertheless, sweet. Luna enjoyed her presence. The girl's light attitude took some of the anger away.

Since Sasha was much closer now, she inhaled deeply. She confirmed that the familiar scent was indeed, not him. Blue must be here, the thought swirled through her mind. "Yes, that must be what is so familiar about you. I've met your sister before."

His eyes instantly lit-up after hearing Luna's last comment.

Sasha glorified his younger sister, making her his top priority. Their relationship had always been extremely tight,- never letting her out of his sight since the moment she was born. Sasha had never been entirely close to his family aside from little Blue. Her naive and sweet personality made others consider her vulnerable and easily controllable. Though Sasha didn't seem to be the protective brotherly type, his true defensive colors shown threw when he felt it necessary.
His grasp grew tighter around Luna's much smaller hand, shaking it vigorously with delight.
"Any friend of Blue, is a friend of mine." he said with a wide smile pressed across his lips. His enthusiasm continued as he began to turn away from the fellow werewolf, waving his arm over his head. "Shall we see her then?" he said in a cheerful boisterous tone.

"It's fine, It's fine!" he said as he noticed her lips purse, "She needs to see this brilliant moon anyways! She is definitely missing out!"
His spoke so quickly, his words collided with one-another making it even more difficult to understand. His Russian accent was nearly incomprehensible, and adding the endless supply of enthusiasm, it all sounded like a loud, accelerated buzz.

Luna felt disgruntled at Sasha's overexuberence. She could certainly tell the resemblance between him and Blue. Of course, she felt as if it was wrong to wake Blue from her sleep. Being a werewolf defiantly wore a person out, so she understood that the young girl needed some rest. She pursed her lips at the man, but he insisted. His excitement caused his words to run together as he convinced Luna to come inside. Her brows scrunched together in concentration as she tried to decipher what he had said.

Luna nodded once before saying, "I suppose it would be only right of me to say hello." She began making her way towards the entrance of the cabin, stopping in the threshold to take in the curious sights she saw. She noted that there were many werewolves crowded into a tight room. She scanned the beings with her yellow eyes, trying to pick out a familiar face. They stopped when they found Blue's peaceful expression. Luna's eyes quickly adjusted so she could study her better. She hadn't change since the last time Luna had seen her. For some strange reason, she couldn't help but smirk. It had been a while since she had come around fellow werewolves. It felt enlightening to her soul.

He tip toed his way through the crowded floor, trying to be as quiet as he could possibly be. Once again, the floor boards mocked his poor attempts, the squeaking growing louder, and louder with each fragile step he took.
When he finally made his way to Blue's peaceful frame, he gently shook the edge of her shoulder, nudging his chin against her cheek.

One golden eye flicked open, matching her brothers'. Her brows pulled together as she squinted her eyes, throwing her lean arm across her face.
"Sasha.." she moaned, "I'm sleeping."
"No.. I think I just woke you up." he said with an almost serious expression.
She lifted her arm shooting a blank scowl, "Funny." she snipped while finally giving in and sitting upwards. "What is it?" she asked as a wide yawn crept from her plump red lips.
Sasha kept his head low and he snapped his finger towards the entryway.

Blue leaned forward to meet eyes with Luna. Her mouth hung ajar in utter surprise. She jumped to her feet, pushing the heavy layers of tattered blankets from her body. She vainly looked down at her attire, wishing she had been wearing something more appropriate.
She wore a plain white tank-top with ripped blue jeans. Nothing special. Especially compared to Luna's natural beauty. She eagerly made her way to Luna and greeted her in a hushed tone, holding back the strong urge to hug to friend.

Luna couldn't help but smile slightly at Blue's reaction to being awoken. She found the chemistry between the two siblings admiring. It reminded her of her own brother who she greatly missed. It brought sad memories of the anguish and violence she felt when her family was murdered. She couldn't help but look back and regret not changing her beloved brother into a fellow werewolf. The fire began feeding itself back to life and all she wanted to do was terrorize a vampire or two. Of course, that would be impossible at the moment. She tried to break away from her hateful thoughts seeing that she was being reunited with a friend.

"It's been a while, Blue." Luna said, trying to hide the tension behind her voice. She took a deep breath, attempting to calm herself. The corner of her mouth rose a fraction, giving off a slight, crooked smile. "What have you been up to all this time?"

The two female werewolves seemed to have picked up where they had left off since the last time they had crossed paths. Sasha sat by the fireplace, resting his chin in the palm of his hand, waiting. He didn't want to interrupt the two, especially since Blue had lately been uncharacteristically unsociable. He switched off his 'center-of-attention' mode, and allowed his sister to shine. His eyes flicked back and forth watching both girls' mouths chattering away.

He sat peacefully... -only momentarily until he heard the sudden sound of classical music playing off in the distance. He turned back towards the women, wondering if they heard the boring lulls of violins and pianos. They didn't seem to notice. He stood up, drawing attention to himself once again, quickly interrupting the private conversation.

'Do you guys hear that?" he said with a devilish grin.

Luna snapped her mouth shut and opened her ears to any abnormal sounds. Far off in the distance, she could make out the sound of classical music. She wanted to gag. The vampires thought they were so sophisticated and prosperous. They believed they were better than everyone else. Vampires especially believed that werewolves were on the end of the food chain. She did realize that it was probably true. They lived in abandoned cabins and shelters throughout the forest while vampires lived high on the hog in their fancy manors. She scoffed at the thought.

"Music?" Luna asked, confused by the abrupt appearance of the instruments. "Do you suppose it's coming from the Camerilla mansion?" Her curiosity was truly eating at her. Must meant a party or gathering. A party meant a large amount of vampires. Her sudden thoughts lead down a tragic path that she couldn't help but grin mischievously at.

Luna's eyes analyzed Blue's and Sasha's faces, hoping that they would catch on to her nefarious plan.

A sinister wave seemed to have engulfed the three who stood in the small doorway. Impish grins dazzled across their faces,- eyes gleaming with a certain wickedness.

"100's of vampires, in their frilly gowns and suits..." Sasha began. "with their orderly rules.." Blue finished with a disgusted frown.
"Perhaps we could show them what a real party is like.." a menacing laugh burst from his throat as he scooted out the door, avoiding the slumbering others.


Without any hesitation or answer, he had decided for the group himself. He began to dart off into the fog ridden forest. The cold air stung against his human-like flesh forcing his golden eyes to tear. As he ran, he fumbled his long black shirt off, ripping it over his head. With a moment of struggle, he threw the tattered piece of clothing to the side, continuing his untamed sprint. The muscles in his stomach rippled and tensed as he strode through the foggy forest. Finally at the coming edge of the massive melancholy willows, he made a tremendous leap, stretching his arms far infront of his face. A distorted crackling noise came from his bones as he suddenly transformed into a majestic wolf.


Blue looked at Luna in astonishment, her eyes wide with excitement.
"Shall we?"

Luna grinned at the sight of Sasha taking off such as he did. She looked over at Blue to see her exuberance clear in her eyes. She let out a small chuckle from her lips. She pressed them tight together and turned her attention towards the endless forest. She narrowed her golden eyes, looking far into the distance, trying to make clear of any anomalies. She tensed her body and began sprinting through the dense forest. Luna's dark brown hair whipped violently around her. Her bare feet hit lightly against the ground, barely causing any sound. The callused feet felt nothing from the cold ground that she strode on. She only felt the soft grass between her toes.

When Luna caught enough speed, she could feel the power she thirsted for course through her blood. She too leaped into the air, flipping once before the burning lashed out through her body that would soon make her morph. She let a growl rip from her chest as she transformed into a ferocious wolf. She landed elegantly on all four legs, still continuing her passionate sprint.

When she ran next to Sasha she couldn't help but feel distraught. Running with other werewolves reminded her of her past pack that she had become so close to. As the years past, the pack was eventually all disposed of by vampires. She was the only one that remained. Ever since then, she hadn't joined up with a new pack. Sprinting through the woods with these two werewolves made her miss her old wolf family. It also made her resentment towards the vampires even greater.

She peered over to her side, finding Sasha there. She attempted to look to the rear to see if Blue was behind her. She hoped she was. Suddenly, Luna had the urge to howl at the moon. Unfortunately, she had to contain it. They would be nearing the manor soon. They didn't want to warn the vampires of their arrival.

Blue, completely bewildered by such abrupt actions, stammered from side to side letting out soft whimpering noises. She began jogging sloppily, tripping over every overgrown root. She cursed under her breath as she hobbled from one foot to the other, removing her black tennis shoes. With a few annoyed grumbles, she continued to trot down the foggy untamed trail. Low branches rudely tugged at her middle length brunette hair, taunting her to make the transformation already. She gazed up at the moon, as if asking for forgiveness.

She wasn't the most graceful werewolf. Nor was she a very graceful human in her 'prior' life. For whatever reason, she was unable to create such a beautiful transformation like the others. As if a young teen in puberty, her metamorphosis was gawky and unappealing to view. That's why she never minded the others going ahead of her, vainly embarrassed by the fact she had little to no physical beauty.

After finally hobbling her way through the unruly forest and it's barbaric obstacles, she could see the others ahead of her. She could feel Luna and Sasha's eyes meet with hers, and she quickly hid behind a broad oak tree, finally releasing the inner beast.

She merged from behind her hiding place, white coat shimmering in the moonlight. With delicate, sure-footed haste, she met with the others. She didn't want to fumble around the others, in-fear of making a complete fool out of herself.

The mansion was only a few acres away. It was colossal in size, mimicking the ancient theme of a Gothic cathedral. Even from where they perched, the brilliant stain-glass windows of Clan symbols illuminated the dark night.
